this volume annotated and edited by Oscar Carrascosa Tinoco specialist is collected, to raise the corpus of Basque author short stories, all stories published in both book Unamuno as various periodicals in which they worked, and those that remained unpublished. Since the inaugural "Seeing Eye", 1886, to "Tragedy" (1923), with a number of undated stories, the reader will find in this rigorous editing nearly a hundred stories with which to check, or remember, Unamuno's creative height.
Miguel de Unamuno
(1868-1936) was a poet, playwright, novelist, philosopher and essayist, but above all classification was the owner of a wisdom, wit and independence rare in Hispanic literature. His first novel was Peace in War (1897), a historical work on the last Carlist War. With Fog (1914) initiated what he called Nivola: against the traditional novel presents the clash of souls, of human passions, no landscapes, environments or customs. Published in 1917 and in 1921 Abel Sanchez Aunt Tula. One of his masterpieces, and probably the best known, would come in 1931, San Manuel good martyr. He also wrote numerous books test as traditionalism Around (1902), Life of Don Quixote and Sancho (1905), On the land of Portugal and Spain (1911), Wanderings and visions English (1922) or, among others, the tragic sense of life (1922).
Carrascosa Tinoco Oscar holds a Ph.D. in Literature. Researcher, teacher and writer. As a researcher has been recognized with several awards, including the Extraordinary Doctoral Award and the Award for Historical Research Vazquez Clavel. He is a member of several research groups and author of several monographs and essays (The Utopia of eternity in Miguel de Unamuno and Jorge Luis Borges, 2006), as well as nearly one hundred titles including articles, prefaces to editions of literary and art catalogs, and book chapters.
